Relocating 20 pieces of production equipment between two live facilities without disrupting ongoing production.

Relocating 20 pieces of equipment between two facilities running full production
Our team is relocating 20 pieces of equipment for a building products manufacturer between two sister facilities in Lincolnton, North Carolina, ranging from small standalone units to large, multi-assembly machinery lines. Both plants remain in full production, so the work has to be coordinated with production activities to cause the least possible disruption.
A 30-ton forklift for the heaviest component, a 20,000+ lb press machine
Each piece of equipment was disassembled, disconnected and palletised into shipping pieces before transport to the destination facility, where it was offloaded, reassembled and reconnected. The heaviest subassembly, a sandpaper punch press machine weighing over 20,000 lb, was lifted, loaded and unloaded using a 30-ton forklift. With both plants running in full production throughout, the team coordinated closely with on-site production activity to keep disruption to a minimum.
