Warehouse Automation

Grids, conveyors and robotics. Live on schedule.

Industrial delivery for automated storage and fulfilment systems

For warehouse operators and automation providers, installation speed has to be balanced with accuracy, system geometry and the need to keep surrounding operations moving. Projects can involve dense grid structures, robotic storage, conveyor networks and electrical controls within very limited space. Beck & Pollitzer installs and integrates warehouse automation and automated warehouse systems from initial layout and assembly through to commissioning support.

Our warehouse automation experience spans Europe, North America and other international markets, covering AutoStore, ASRS, conveyor and robotic systems across grocery, healthcare, manufacturing and records-management environments. Beck & Pollitzer is a globally accredited AutoStore installer, with certified project managers and supervisors supporting installations across multiple regions.

Four areas of coverage

Automated warehouses combine storage structures, robotics, conveyor systems and controls that have to operate as one connected system. The areas below reflect the installation environments our teams support.

AutoStore & grid-based systems

Grid-based storage systems depend on consistent assembly, levelling and dimensional accuracy across thousands of interconnected cells. Beck & Pollitzer supports grid construction, ports, chargers and workstation installation, with dimensional checks available through our automated-storage grid verification where geometry is critical to system performance.

  • AutoStore grid assembly and modules
  • Ports, chargers and service-wall installation
  • Pick-up and retrieval stations
  • Bin and tote induction

ASRS & high-bay storage

Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems combine cranes, tracks, racking and transfer equipment within tightly controlled storage structures. Our teams install the mechanical elements and supporting infrastructure required across high-bay and automated storage environments, including ASRS equipment installation where wider machinery integration is required.

  • Aisle cranes and shuttle systems
  • High-bay steel structures and racking
  • Track, deck and portal installation
  • Dynamic and static workstations

Conveyors, robotics & controls

Material flow depends on conveyors, sortation equipment, warehouse robotics and control systems working together across the facility. Our multi-system material-flow integration covers mechanical and electrical assembly, cable routing and equipment integration through to commissioning support.

  • Conveyor and sortation systems
  • Autonomous and mobile robots
  • PLC cabinets, controls and safety wiring
  • Power distribution and communications

Live warehouse expansion & system change

Logistics automation projects are often delivered inside active warehouses where staging space, vehicle access and operating routes are already constrained. Live-site staging and material flow supports the movement, storage and sequencing of equipment around ongoing operations.

  • Capacity expansion in operating facilities
  • Robot induction and workstation additions
  • Equipment staging and same-day installation
  • Phased changeover and commissioning support

Programme delivery & site safety

Automated warehouse projects are built around tightly defined installation zones, equipment interfaces and commissioning sequences. Grid sections, cranes, conveyors, robots and electrical controls often need to be completed in a set order before the next system can be tested.

Our automation build sequencing coordinates those dependencies, while safe working around automated systems covers segregation, energisation controls, work at height and safe access as installed equipment moves from construction into testing and operation.

Need to know more?

Answers to common questions about our approach, delivery and expertise.
How do you coordinate installation across AutoStore, ASRS, conveyor and robotic systems from different OEMs in the same warehouse?

Automated warehouses often combine AutoStore, ASRS, conveyor and sortation systems, warehouse robotics and grid-based storage from several different OEMs, each with its own interfaces and commissioning requirements. Beck & Pollitzer sequences mechanical assembly, electrical installation, alignment, equipment interfaces and testing across these systems so the complete site is commissioned as one coordinated installation.

Is Beck & Pollitzer an accredited AutoStore installer?

Yes. Beck & Pollitzer holds global AutoStore Installer accreditation, with trained project managers and supervisors qualified to support AutoStore installations across multiple international markets. Our teams can support grid assembly, ports, chargers, service walls, workstation installation and wider mechanical and electrical integration.

Can you install large ASRS and fulfilment systems?

Yes. At one US e-grocery fulfilment centre, Beck & Pollitzer installed 173 ASRS aisles across ambient, chilled and frozen areas. The programme also included deck routing, tracks, workstations, controls, safety wiring and portal levelling. Installation of ASRS Systems at an e-grocery fulfilment centre

Can warehouse automation be installed where space is extremely limited?

Yes. On one automated dairy warehouse project operating at -27°C, the highest point of the stacker crane had less than 50 mm clearance to the ceiling. A 48-person team installed three warehouse steel-structure systems within the restricted space. Installation of an automated warehouse for a production plant
