Our Constructability & Logistics Advisory service brings practical industrial installation and relocation experience into project planning, helping clients understand how equipment and materials can be transported, received, moved through a facility and installed within real-world site constraints.

Before it becomes a site problem
Early constructability review tests access, lifting, sequencing, logistics and installation requirements before they become problems on site.
The advice is grounded in first-hand experience of industrial equipment installation and relocation, including what happens when equipment arrives on site and has to be unloaded, moved, positioned, installed, connected to building utilities and commissioned.
Six disciplines, one physical journey

We carry out constructability reviews from a practical delivery perspective, confirming whether proposed installation activities can be executed within the available site conditions and identifying constraints while there is still time to change the plan.
- Equipment access, installation routes and building clearances
- Equipment dimensions, weights and installation sequence
- Lifting, handling and temporary access requirements
- Specialist installation equipment and installation space
- Installation tolerances and removal / replacement requirements
- Constraints within existing facilities
- Utility connection points and building tie-in requirements
We develop practical strategies that define what needs to be installed and how it can be physically moved into its final position.
- Installation methodology and handling strategy
- Installation sequencing, lifting and positioning strategy
- Specialist equipment and access requirements
- Temporary works considerations and installation work packages
- Equipment protection and installation interfaces
- Commissioning access requirements
We develop logistics strategies for complex industrial equipment and materials, considering the complete journey from supplier to final installation location and identifying constraints and practical solutions along the way.
- Equipment delivery strategy and transport planning
- Delivery sequencing, heavy and abnormal load considerations
- Route surveys and site access assessments
- Offloading strategy, laydown planning and temporary storage
- Internal site movements and handling requirements
- Logistics risk assessment
We assess the physical environment through which equipment and materials need to travel, giving clients a clear understanding of whether equipment can reach its intended destination and what enabling measures may be required.
- Site access surveys and delivery route assessments
- Internal route surveys, door, opening and clearance assessments
- Floor loading and turning / manoeuvring requirements
- Crane and lifting access and laydown areas
- Obstruction identification and brownfield constraints
- Live-site restrictions
For large-scale manufacturing programmes, the challenge is often deploying hundreds or thousands of assets efficiently and consistently. We develop repeatable approaches that move the programme from individual installation activities to coordinated deployment across lines, areas or facilities.
- Equipment deployment strategies and installation sequencing
- Standardised installation methodologies and work packages
- Installation resource requirements and productivity assessments
- Multi-line and multi-area deployment
- Replication strategies
- Installation lessons learned and continuous improvement
Our experience in industrial relocation provides additional capability where existing equipment needs to be moved, modified or redeployed.
- Equipment relocation requirements and existing equipment condition
- Removal methodology, transport and handling requirements
- Temporary storage and reinstallation strategy
- Facility constraints
- Production and operational restrictions
- Reconfiguration requirements
Connecting logistics with installation
Logistics and installation are planned as one physical chain. Equipment size and weight influence the transport solution; the delivery route affects access arrangements; installation sequence affects laydown and storage; and area readiness determines when equipment can be delivered.

Practical advice from people who install
Our approach draws on first-hand industrial installation and relocation experience. It allows us to challenge assumptions about access, handling, logistics and installation feasibility against the conditions the delivery team will face on site.
An installation-led strategy for how equipment travels from supplier to its final position, with access, lifting, sequencing and logistics tested against real site conditions before work starts.
From constructability review and installation methodology through logistics, route assessment and deployment planning, we identify physical constraints early and build them into the delivery plan as part of our industrial consulting services.

Need to know more?
A constructability review tests whether the proposed design and installation approach can be delivered within the actual site conditions. Our constructability review services consider access, lifting, sequencing, temporary works, logistics, work fronts and installation space before those constraints reach site.
Pre-construction constructability review is most useful while detailed design and procurement are still developing, before access routes, lifting methods and installation sequences are fixed. Early review gives the project team time to change the methodology, layout or programme while those decisions are still practical to influence.
It covers the equipment journey from supplier to installed position, including transport, site access, delivery sequencing, offloading, laydown, temporary storage, internal movement and the lifting or handling methods needed at each stage.
We assess route dimensions, openings, floor loading, turning and manoeuvring requirements, crane access, laydown areas, existing operations and temporary works. The installation sequence is then planned around the work fronts and access that will actually be available. See how this worked in practice on a new pickle line inside an operating steelworks.
Design & Technical Solutions checks the design and documentation interface between building systems and process equipment. Constructability & Logistics Advisory focuses on the physical execution: how equipment reaches the workface, how it is lifted and positioned, and how logistics and installation sequencing work on site.
Yes. The scope can include removal methodology, handling and transport, temporary storage, reinstallation strategy, facility constraints and production restrictions for equipment being moved or redeployed.
