Machine Relocation

Dismantled. Moved. Reinstalled.

Machine relocation at Beck & Pollitzer covers the whole move: dismantling, match-marking, lifting, packing, transport, unloading, positioning and reinstallation. Our teams move individual machines, production cells and complete production lines within a facility, between sites or across borders.

Manufacturers such as Stellantis, Bosch and Procter & Gamble have used our teams for machine and production-line relocations, some of them between countries.

Each project is planned around the equipment, route, access constraints and production schedule. Dismantling sequences, specialist lifting, transport and destination-site readiness are coordinated through move planning and interface control, so the client works with one project team from first dismantling to final reinstallation.

Dismantling, moving and reinstallation

A machine move runs through four stages, each with its own technical and logistical requirements. Scope can follow a single asset or span several machines and production areas. Equipment that is being retired rather than moved falls under controlled removal and decommissioning.

Dismantling, match-marking & preparation

Dismantling, match-marking & preparation

Before equipment is moved, our teams disconnect services, document assemblies and match-mark mechanical, electrical and piping components so the machine can be reassembled correctly. Dismantling methods are developed around the equipment, the access available and the lifting sequence.

  • Mechanical and electrical disconnection
  • Machine dismantling and strip-down
  • Match-marking of components
  • Photographic and written dismantling records
  • Removal of floor fixings and ancillary structures
  • Crating of sensitive components
Lifting, loading & internal movement

Lifting, loading & internal movement

Machinery is moved from its operating position to the loading point using equipment selected for the asset weight, geometry and site constraints. This can include forklifts, VersaLifts, hydraulic gantries, cranes and specialist transport systems.

  • Heavy machinery removal
  • Internal machinery movement
  • Rigging and controlled lifting
  • Loading and unloading
  • Restricted-access moves
  • Lift planning for heavy equipment
Transport, packing & relocation logistics

Transport, packing & relocation logistics

Domestic and international moves need machinery, lifting equipment, packaging and transport resources sequenced around site access and production requirements. Where equipment cannot go straight from one site to the other, staged delivery and interim holding can bridge the gap.

  • Machine transport services
  • Packing for road, sea or storage
  • Route and permit planning
  • Vehicle and trailer selection
  • Cross-border transport coordination
  • Temporary storage and consolidation
Reinstallation, positioning & verification

Reinstallation, positioning & verification

At the destination, machinery is unloaded, positioned and reassembled ready for reconnection and commissioning support. Where the move requires dimensional checks, datum transfer or laser-based verification, our measurement and verification team can check positioning against project or OEM requirements.

  • Equipment unloading and placement
  • Mechanical reassembly
  • Re-levelling at the destination
  • Datum and alignment checks
  • Utility reconnection support
  • Pre-commissioning and handover support

Wider machine relocation services

Industrial relocation services are shaped by the machinery, the origin and destination sites, the transport route and how much reinstallation is required. Where a project extends across several production areas, utilities and wider site infrastructure, our whole-plant relocation service covers the broader move.

Dismantling, lifting and movement are planned through our task-based safety approach, including risk assessment, lifting plans, access controls and supervision for each activity.

Answers to common questions about our approach, delivery and expertise.
What is the difference between machine relocation and factory relocation?

Machine Relocation covers individual machines, production cells and complete production lines. Factory & Plant Relocation covers a wider facility move involving several production areas, building services, offices or a whole manufacturing site.

Can you manage international machine moving?

Yes. Our international machine movers have relocated an extrusion line and crystalliser from Italy to Belgium, with local teams supporting individual stages where the route requires it.

Can machinery be moved while the rest of the facility keeps running?

Yes, where the site and production plan allow. Moves can be phased around shutdown windows and access restrictions, with machines or production areas removed and reinstalled in stages. Internal moves within a working plant, such as washing-machine drum lines relocated within a plant near Milan, follow the same approach.

Can you handle moving heavy machinery?

Yes, including oversized machines. Lifting and transport methods are chosen from the weight, dimensions, centre of gravity, access route and final position of each machine, and our industrial equipment movers work from a lift plan prepared for that asset.

What does a large machinery relocation look like in practice?

On a relocation in Italy, Beck & Pollitzer moved 26 production machines to a new manufacturing hall 20 kilometres away. The equipment totalled about 400 tonnes, and the heaviest single machine weighed 85 tonnes. Relocation of production machinery in Italy.

What do you need to plan a machine relocation?

Planning starts with the equipment list, weights and dimensions, drawings or OEM documentation, layouts at both sites, access restrictions, lifting points and the target production schedule. From these we set the dismantling, transport and reinstallation sequence before mobilisation.

Moving machinery between sites?

Send us the equipment list, both site locations and your target dates, and we will outline how the move could be run.
