Fridge production line dismantling and relocation programme

Dismantling two refrigerator production lines in three months, with documentation for reassembly and 42 vehicles deployed.

Hungary

Separating reusable and scrap equipment while protecting live production nearby

The client needed two refrigerator production lines dismantled, but the equipment did not all have the same destination. One line was to be scrapped and recycled, while four key machines from the other had to be disassembled for reassembly at a new site. The first production line was also adjacent to active production areas.

Detailed disconnection records, diagrams and video documentation supported later reassembly

The team disassembled the reusable machinery and documented the process using electrical disconnection sheets, detailed diagrams and GoPro footage. A standardised marking and documentation system was agreed with the receiving country so the foaming machine could be accurately reconstructed abroad. In parallel, the second line was scrapped responsibly, maximising material recovery through recycling.

Next to active production, strict safety protocols and strategic logistics minimised disruption, and 42 vehicles were deployed for the production line relocation.

Dismantling and relocation planning for two refrigerator production lines
Electrical disconnection sheets and detailed diagrams produced for reusable machinery
GoPro footage captured to provide a visual reassembly reference
Standardised marking system agreed with the receiving country
Responsible scrapping and recycling of the second production line
Forty-two vehicles deployed across the project
Work planned around adjacent active production areas

Two production-line workstreams completed within three months

The dismantling and relocation programme was completed within three months. Reusable machinery was documented for reconstruction at the receiving site, while equipment assigned for disposal followed the project’s recycling process.

Need to know more?

Why were GoPro recordings used during dismantling?
The reusable machinery needed to be reconstructed at another location. Video footage supplemented the electrical disconnection sheets and diagrams by preserving a visual record of the equipment configuration before dismantling.
How did the project distinguish equipment for relocation from equipment for disposal?
The two refrigerator lines had different end routes. Equipment from one line was dismantled and documented for reassembly, while the second line was processed through the recycling route defined for the project.
Why was a standardised marking system agreed with the receiving country?
The foaming equipment was being reconstructed abroad. A common marking system gave the dismantling and receiving teams the same component references when the machinery was identified and reassembled at the destination.
