Relocating critical production equipment between two countries without breaking traceability.

The Challenge
Moving critical production equipment across two countries
International equipment relocations put every stage – dismantling, transport and reinstatement – on a single continuous timeline, since a delay at one end affects the schedule at the other. Beck & Pollitzer supported a Tier 1 automotive components manufacturer with exactly that kind of move, relocating a vulcanisation press from Mateur, Tunisia, to Rudník in the Czech Republic.
With mechanical, electrical and international logistics all needing to align, the project ran across 30 days and 450 project hours, coordinated across two countries rather than a single site.
Our Solution
Match-marked dismantling through to reassembly, one team
Given the equipment’s value and the distance involved, Beck & Pollitzer’s machinery moving team planned each stage to protect the press and maintain component traceability across the move, from initial dismantling through to final positioning in the Czech Republic.
Mechanical and electrical dismantling of the press and associated equipment |
Safe electrical isolation, including LOTO procedures and primary power disconnection |
Detailed component identification, demarcation and match-marking for traceability |
Specialist packing and coordination of overseas transport from Tunisia to the Czech Republic |
Positioning, levelling, anchoring and reassembly of the press, conveyors and safety systems at destination |
Mechanical and electrical dismantling of the press and associated equipment |
Safe electrical isolation, including LOTO procedures and primary power disconnection |
Detailed component identification, demarcation and match-marking for traceability |

A 50-tonne mobile crane and high-capacity forklifts supported the lift and placement work at both ends of the move, with match-marking completed during dismantling, streamlining the subsequent machinery installation process in Rudník. For projects where dimensional accuracy is critical, Beck & Pollitzer also draws on industrial metrology and site layout services to support precision alignment and verification.
The Outcome
Reinstated safely across two countries, on schedule
LOTO procedures governing every electrical isolation and reconnection kept the relocation moving safely from dismantling through international transport to full reassembly, without compromising the equipment or the receiving facility’s operational requirements.
The result gave the client a fully reinstalled vulcanisation press, conveyors and associated safety systems in the Czech Republic, completed within the 30-day, 450-hour programme agreed at the outset.
