Industrial logistics for a project moves equipment from supplier, port or storage location to the installation area. Beck & Pollitzer plans and runs that work, from inbound deliveries, machinery transport and heavy equipment shipping to export packing, site handling, temporary storage and staged delivery into the work area.
Manufacturers such as Magyar Suzuki and Rockwool have used our teams for unloading, handling and storing project equipment. A separate international project collected equipment from up to 50 supplier locations, consolidated it through warehouses and moved it with more than 500 trucks, with export packing lists and customs clearance support.
Logistics can be delivered as a standalone service or combined with Machinery Installation, connecting equipment movement and storage with the installation programme on site.
Collection, transport, handling and storage
Equipment arrives from several sources on different dates and has to reach the installation area in order. The areas below follow it from collection to release to the installation team.

Project & inbound logistics
Equipment may arrive from one OEM or from dozens of suppliers in different locations. Collections, delivery dates and receiving capacity are coordinated so each load reaches the project when the site is ready to accept it. Delivery windows, handling resources and release dates are set against the installation schedule through logistics planning against the installation schedule.
- Supplier and OEM collection coordination
- Multi-location supplier pick-ups
- Inbound delivery schedules
- Site access and receiving requirements
- Delivery call-off and arrival control
- Equipment and shipment records

Heavy equipment transport & shipping
Industrial machinery can move by road, container, sea freight or breakbulk depending on its weight, dimensions and destination. Transport scope can include export packing, machinery crating, escorted abnormal-load moves and customs clearance support where the project requires it.
- Heavy machinery transport by road and sea
- Heavy equipment shipping
- Containerised equipment shipment
- Breakbulk shipping coordination
- Machinery packing and crating
- Customs clearance support

Site logistics & equipment handling
Once equipment reaches the site, unloading and internal movement have to fit around construction, other contractors and active work areas. Handling methods are chosen for the load and the access conditions, with unloading zones, lifting activity, pedestrian and vehicle interfaces and movement through the site planned through our unloading, lifting and traffic controls.
- Truck unloading and receiving
- On-site transfer between work areas
- Forklift and telehandler handling
- Laydown-area management
- Movement through temporary holding areas
- Delivery to installation zones

Project warehousing & storage
Equipment often reaches site before its installation area is ready. Temporary project warehousing holds machinery and materials, consolidates them, separates them by work package and releases them when the receiving area is ready. Once equipment moves into assembly, connection and commissioning support, our assembly and connection teams take over the installation scope.
- Temporary machinery storage
- Industrial equipment storage
- Project warehousing
- Load consolidation and deconsolidation
- Staging by work package or destination
- Sequenced release to installation

Machinery transportation from France to Italy in two phases
- 4 Cutting machines moved
- 2 Delivery phases
- storage + temporary reassembly Interim routes

International tooling logistics across five European countries
- up to 50 Supplier locations
- 500+ Trucks used
- 5 Collection countries
Wider logistics & warehousing services
The scope can cover a single shipment or a multi-supplier industrial project, with storage held for as long as the installation schedule needs it.

Need to know more?
Project logistics connects collection, transport, receiving, site handling, storage and delivery to the installation area. The exact scope depends on where the equipment is coming from, its transport requirements and when the project can receive it.
Photographs and records can be prepared at collection to document the equipment before transport. Export packing lists and shipment records can also be produced where required for international moves.
Yes. On one project the factory halls were still under construction when the equipment arrived. Components were unloaded in open areas, passed through temporary holding areas and lifted into position with forklifts and telehandlers as each area was released.
If the equipment is new or purchased and heading to a project site, that is logistics. If it is installed in an existing plant and has to be dismantled and reinstalled elsewhere, that is moving installed machinery between sites. Some projects need both.
Yes. Temporary storage can be used when equipment arrives before its installation area is available or when several shipments need to be consolidated. Machinery is then released in line with the project sequence.
Yes, where it is part of the project scope. Beck & Pollitzer can coordinate international transport and prepare export packing lists and shipment records, with customs clearance support for the destination country.
The transport plan should confirm equipment dimensions and weights, lifting and loading points, packing requirements, route constraints, receiving access and the delivery sequence before mobilisation. Benefits of hiring a professional machinery transport company.
