Installing 103-ton and 43-ton vertical presses over ten days with a PT5400 gantry and dedicated SHEQ oversight.

The Challenge
Positioning two multi-tonne presses onto prepared bases within a fixed ten-day window
The project required two vertical presses, weighing 103 tons and 43 tons, to be unloaded, turned into the vertical position and placed onto prepared bases at an international technology partner’s plant in Frýdlant nad Ostravicí. The installation had to be completed within ten days, and followed an earlier vertical press installation by Beck & Pollitzer for the same client.
Our Solution
PT5400 gantry and 8t forklift used for controlled lifting and placement
Our Czech team managed the heavy machinery installation, from unloading through vertical positioning to final placement on the prepared bases. A PT5400 gantry, an 8t Linde forklift and a cherry picker were used for the work. A project engineer, SHEQ manager and supervisor led four mechanical fitters, with the crew working ten hours each day and Health & Safety oversight in place throughout.

The Outcome
Both presses installed on schedule within the ten-day programme
The two vertical presses were installed within the planned ten-day period. The international technology partner gave positive feedback, extending a working relationship established on an earlier press installation.
