Completing loader rail modifications, overhead conductor installation and removal of 20 years of redundant cabling within a two-week summer shutdown.

The Challenge
Delivering several upgrade scopes inside one fixed summer shutdown window
During a two-week summer shutdown, a Tier 1 automotive manufacturer needed loader rail modifications, a new overhead conductor and removal of redundant cabling completed while several contractors were working on site. The fixed shutdown window meant the work had to be sequenced around other teams without compromising site safety.
Removing cabling that had accumulated over approximately 20 years added a further task that required work at height.
Our Solution
Precision levelling, controlled work-at-height access and segregated work zones
Our Hungarian team combined mechanical upgrade work with structured site coordination. A Leica NA720 was used for high-accuracy levelling, while Haulotte Star10 and HA-15 IP MEWPs provided access for elevated work. Hilti TE 4-22 drills supported the structural modifications required during the shutdown.
On the busy multi-contractor site, non-essential activities were rescheduled, work zones were segregated and clear movement routes were established to reduce overlap between teams. The programme was managed against the two-week shutdown through our project management approach.

The Outcome
Multi-scope upgrade completed within the two-week shutdown
The work was completed during the planned two-week summer shutdown, leaving the client’s production lines ready to restart without delay. Removing the redundant cabling also significantly reduced the load on the roof, which the project manager described as a tangible safety improvement.
