Plywood and LVL production facility installation in France

Delivering a new plywood and engineered wood facility for Thébault Group in twelve months.

France

The Challenge

A new plywood and LVL facility, built and installed in one programme

Expanding engineered wood production means installing multiple production lines within a live construction environment, where sequencing across disciplines determines whether the build stays on schedule. Our team in France supported Thébault Group with exactly that expansion, delivering the construction and installation of a new facility dedicated to plywood and laminated veneer lumber (LVL) production.

Carried out over twelve months, the project needed mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and process-fluid disciplines sequenced carefully enough to keep several production lines progressing in parallel.

Our Solution

Machinery transport, installation and commissioning, sequenced across disciplines

Mechanical, electrical and instrumentation installation across all production areas
Hydraulics, process fluids and piping systems, including specialist X-ray inspection testing
Full project management, planning and HSE oversight throughout
Coordination of machinery transport and logistics, including oversized vehicles from Northern Europe
Parallel mechanical and electrical installation to keep both systems integrating on schedule

Detailed delivery planning and on-site material handling kept installation progressing continuously, even as oversized transport moved across borders to reach the site, applying the same project management discipline used across Beck & Pollitzer’s international projects.

The Outcome

All production zones delivered, ready for commissioning

With logistics and installation sequenced against a single programme, the facility was delivered with every major production zone installed and ready for commissioning, completed in line with the twelve-month plan.

The result supported Thébault Group’s strategic growth, increasing production capacity and strengthening its position in the engineered wood and plywood market.

Need to know more?

Why did the project include X-ray inspection testing?
Specialist testing, including X-ray inspection, was used to verify the integrity of piping and process-fluid systems as part of the installation’s quality checks, alongside the mechanical, electrical and instrumentation scope.
Why was machinery transport such a significant part of this project?
Several vehicles, including oversized transport, had to move equipment from Northern Europe to the site, so detailed delivery planning was needed to keep installation progressing continuously rather than waiting on deliveries.
